Privacy Policy
How the Arab-Mozambican Chamber of Commerce collects, uses and protects your information.
Effective date: 1 January 2026
Information we collect
Account and profile details, organization and membership information, KYC/verification documents, and platform activity needed to deliver chamber services.
How we use it
To verify members, facilitate trade and investment connections, process membership and payments, and improve matching and recommendations.
3. Legal basis & consent
We process information where it is necessary to perform our membership agreement with you, to comply with legal and regulatory obligations (including anti-money-laundering and tax rules), for our legitimate interest in operating and securing the chamber, and — for optional uses such as directory visibility choices and marketing — on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Sharing
We share data only as needed to deliver services (e.g. verified counterparties, payment processors) and as required by law. We do not sell personal data.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your membership is active and thereafter only as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, tax and dispute-resolution obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Verification and payment records may be retained for the periods required by applicable Mozambican law.
Your rights
You may access, correct or request deletion of your data, and manage communication preferences in your account settings.
7. Security
We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls limiting data to authorised chamber staff, and secure handling of payments through our processor. No system is completely secure, so you should also protect your credentials and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorised access.
8. Cookies
The Portal uses essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your language preference and keep the service secure. We may use limited analytics to understand and improve usage. You can manage cookies through your browser, though disabling essential cookies may affect how the Portal works.
9. Data location & transfers
Your information is processed to support a Mozambique-based chamber. Some service providers (such as hosting or payment infrastructure) may process data in other locations; where that occurs, we take steps to ensure your information continues to be protected to an appropriate standard.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and, where changes are material, notify members through the Portal or by email.
